Brass and Copper has been open for about 2 years now and many of us already know the restaurant. More like a lifestyle restaurant, where all these Lekki big boys and girls go to hangout. In fact, it even seems like a good spot for one of this our #EatWithChukwuma hangouts, but the problem is…Their menu was actually pretty basic, I usually look out for well-decorated or creative dishes when I check menus, but for a lifestyle restaurant, this one was uninteresting to me sha. I couldn’t decide whether or not I should even eat here.

No pizza on their menu, they don’t even have desserts. Like who does that? ‍️🤷🏽‍♂My advice is, they can even strike a deal with one of these neighborhood desserts shops to deliver when needed. But what do I know about business? ‍️💁🏽‍♂

Also, I hate it when dishes aren’t properly explained on the menu. For example, if you serve T-Bone steak, tell us on the menu how many grams, if you serve meat balls, tell us how many pieces. These are the basic things you should tell us, and not only the spices they were made out of ‍🙄

Anyways, to be honest, service wasn’t poor, the restaurant was almost empty at the time I was here sha, so maybe it counts for the waiter’s diligence and activeness 👏🏽👏🏽. One thing I have to add is, I ordered meatballs for starters, and I was told it will be ready in 15 minutes. Guess how long it took….. 35 minutes… In a nearly empty restaurant? 😱 Not cool mehn, not cool. And I was dead hungry at that hour ‍🤦🏽‍♂️

So about the food, here’s what I ate…

Balls Of Fire (Italian Meat Balls) – ₦4,500

Meatballs served with pomodoro sauce.

Pomodoro sauce is a tomato sauce of Italian origin. I needed something hot and spicy, which explains why I ordered for this starter. I mean, check out the name, “Balls of Fire”. Won’t you expect something extremely hot? At least close to asun standard of peppery? This one was just rather sweet. The only thing hot about it was that it came out from the kitchen steaming hot. To be honest, the meat balls tasted nice oh, meat was fresh and very juicy and the tomatoes sauce was good. But my problem is, why wasn’t it hot and spicy as the name implied? I NEEDED PEPPER! 😡

Although I was served 4 balls which is just okay for that price, but generally speaking, restaurants should learn to detail their menus. If you’re serving 4 balls, mention it there so we will know if it’s worth our money 🙄

Anyways, summary is, my starter was good, but it lacked pepper.

Cabonara Pasta – ₦5,500

Cream Penne Pasta with Chicken.

Cream Penne Pasta with Chicken Brass Copper - LET’S CHECK OUT BRASS & COPPER, LEKKI

So I was asked if I wanted regular spaghetti pasta or penne pasta, I opted for Penne pasta, there’s spaghetti in my house.

So yea, their pasta was really nice, they were very generous with the cream and chicken strips.

The last time I had pasta Cabonara, I had it with pork, so I decided it has to be different this time around.

So after my issue with my starter, I specifically requested my pasta to be extra spicy. But no way, they still didn’t put pepper inside ‍. I couldn’t understand why they’re so stingy with pepper in this restaurant .

Anyways, I just helped myself with the table pepper.

I have to be honest, the pasta was really nice and creamy, and the portion was massive, I did not even finish my food ‍🤷🏽‍♂
